Romania announces schedule for 2026 Bacalaureat second session

The second session of Romania's 2026 Bacalaureat will take place on 6–7 August for digital competency assessment, followed by a foreign‑language competency test on 6 and 7 August. Written exams are set for 10 August (Romanian language), 11 August (mandatory profile – mathematics or history), 12 August (elective profile and specialization) and 13 August for minority students taking the mother‑tongue test.

First written results will be posted on 18 August, with an appeals window on 19–20 August. Final results, after any contestations, are scheduled for 24 August. To pass, candidates must complete all competency assessments, obtain at least a grade of 5 on each written paper and achieve an overall average of 6. The previous session attracted about 131,000 candidates and recorded a 76.9 % success rate.
