Romania authorities address noise complaints against sports club and kindergarten

Local authorities in Romania are addressing noise complaints regarding public and private facilities. In Șura Mare, a resident has filed a complaint against a padel club, alleging that the sound of balls hitting glass walls exceeds legal decibel limits and disturbs the neighborhood after 10:00 PM. The Șura Mare City Hall responded that the sports facility holds a valid construction permit and an operating agreement that allows activities until midnight. The municipality noted that an acoustic impact study was not required for the authorization.

In Bucharest, the Mayor of Sector 6, Paul Moldovan, has criticized a complaint filed with the Public Health Directorate regarding a kindergarten in the ANL Brâncuși neighborhood. A neighbor reported the facility due to the noise made by children. Mayor Moldovan expressed concern that such complaints could jeopardize the operation of the unit, which was built with European funding to provide essential educational services within a residential area.
