Romania Black Friday 2026: Consumer trends and retailer preparations

Consumer interest in Black Friday 2026 is rising in Romania, with a study by MKOR indicating that 70% of respondents aged 18 to 55 intend to make purchases, the highest level in four years. The average declared budget is approximately 2,100 lei. Shopping preferences vary by gender: electronics and home appliances are top priorities for both, while men show higher interest in IT&C products and gaming, and women prioritize cosmetics, clothing, and personal care.

Major retailers are preparing for the event. Flanco has announced a campaign running from October 22 to November 30 across its 150+ stores and online, offering discounts of up to 54% on small appliances and providing 24-month interest-free installment options. Meanwhile, eMAG has scheduled its Black Friday event for Friday, November 6, advising customers to update their apps, verify delivery addresses, and prepare payment methods in advance to avoid stock shortages.
