Romania business leaders warn of rising company closures
Business leaders in Romania are raising alarms regarding the increasing number of company closures. During the Intelligent Money Academy conference in Baia Mare, Florin Jianu, president of IMM România, highlighted significant economic challenges facing entrepreneurs.
In the Maramureș region, data indicates a widening gap between business activity: approximately 1,600 companies were established by mid-year, while 2,600 companies closed. This represents a nearly 80% difference between new registrations and closures.
Key obstacles cited by business representatives include limited access to financing, high energy and fuel costs, bureaucracy, and a lack of economic predictability. There are calls for more stable economic environments and improved support programs, such as IMM Invest, to help small and medium-sized enterprises sustain their operations.
