Data from the National Institute of Statistics indicates a cooling trend in the Romanian business services sector. During the first seven months of 2026, turnover for services provided primarily to enterprises fell by 1.9% in absolute terms and 2.6% when adjusted for seasonality compared to the same period in 2025.

The decline is driven largely by contractions in transport (-3.2%), other business services (-2.4%), and information technology and IT services (-1.7%). In July 2026 alone, the absolute turnover for these services dropped by 5.1% compared to July 2025, with transport seeing a significant decrease of 8.3%.

Conversely, some sectors showed growth. Communication activities and film, video, and television production/broadcasting both increased by 3.5% during the first seven months of the year.
