Romania business updates: energy innovation, retail media, and industry expos

Romania is seeing significant activity across the energy, retail, and pet care sectors. The RoEnergy exhibition in Timișoara focuses on advanced energy and industrial technologies, specifically highlighting solar, wind, biomass, and hydro energy to support the transition to a green economy.

In the retail sector, Auchan Romania has introduced a new in-store retail media concept at its Drumul Taberei hypermarket in Bucharest, featuring immersive LED entrances and an ecosystem of 81 digital screens. Additionally, the QSR restaurant chain Mesopotamia is expanding its presence in the Bucharest-Ilfov region with new units in Orhideea Shopping Center and Bragadiru.

The pet industry also held major B2B events, including the third edition of EXPO PET 2026 in Bucharest. The exhibition brought together international and domestic producers, importers, and distributors of pet food and accessories to facilitate commercial collaborations.
