Romania celebrates Firefighters' Day with national ceremonies

Romania is celebrating Firefighters' Day, marking 178 years since the Battle of Dealul Spirii. Across the country, including cities like Oradea, Târnăveni, Satu Mare, and Bucharest, various ceremonies and public demonstrations are being held. These events feature displays of emergency equipment, rescue simulations, and educational workshops on first aid and crisis prevention.

Government officials, including Minister of Internal Affairs Cătălin Predoiu, have praised the bravery and professionalism of the services. Discussions have highlighted the need for continued investment in modern technology, such as drones, artificial intelligence, and anti-drone systems, to enhance crisis resilience. Additionally, specialized training programs for mountain rescuers and aerial medical crews are being reinforced with international expertise.

In Hungary, firefighters in the Somogy region remained active over the weekend, responding to multiple incidents including vehicle accidents, technical rescues, and several small fires.
