Romania celebrates Romanian Village Day

Romania celebrates Romanian Village Day annually on the last Sunday of September. Established by Law no. 44/2020 and promulgated by President Klaus Iohannis, the day aims to appreciate and promote the Romanian village through social, cultural, and scientific events organized by public authorities and various institutions.

To mark the occasion, the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum is hosting a series of events from September 26 to 27. This includes a Bread Fair on September 26, which highlights the social, spiritual, and ritualistic roles of bread in community life. The fair features artisan bakers and producers from Bucharest and across the country, alongside participation from various foreign embassies located in Romania.
