Romania disburses 396 million lei under Anghel Saligny program, reaches 93% PNRR absorption

Interim Development Minister Attila Cseke announced that the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA) has transferred almost 400 million lei (396.65 million lei) to reimburse 257 projects financed through the Anghel Saligny National Investment Program. The funded works include road rehabilitation, water supply, sewage systems, storm‑water drainage and natural‑gas distribution. About 45% of the funds target water and sewage projects, 30% go to gas‑distribution systems and 25% to road infrastructure, with priority given to projects that are already advanced in execution.

In a related update, the ministry reported that Romania has absorbed 93% of the European Union funds allocated to the Development component of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Minister Cseke urged local authorities to submit all required documentation and final‑acceptance reports promptly, noting that the deadline for completing and claiming the remaining funds is 30 August 2026 and will not be extended. The MDLPA warned it will recover payments from beneficiaries of projects that are not finished by that date.
