Romania establishes National Day of Female Entrepreneurship

The Romanian Chamber of Deputies has adopted a law establishing November 19 as the National Day of Female Entrepreneurship. The legislation aims to regulate the marking of this day and provide a framework for supporting related activities.

The initiative was proposed by the National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship (CONAF) and introduced in Parliament by PNL deputy Geanina Pistru-Popa. The project was first publicly announced in March during the Women in Economy Gala by CONAF founder Cristina Chiriac and Pistru-Popa.

The new national holiday is intended to serve as an annual milestone to discuss the economic contributions of female entrepreneurs, access to financing, entrepreneurial education, and the barriers preventing women-led businesses from scaling. CONAF intends to use the day to foster dialogue between the administration, the business community, the financial system, and the educational sector.
