Romania experiences heavy traffic on major roads and motorways

Heavy traffic congestion is affecting major Romanian road networks as travelers return from holiday destinations. Significant delays are reported on DN 1 between Brașov and Ploiești, specifically in columns between Predeal and Bușteni toward Ploiești, and between Poiana Țapului and Bușteni in the opposite direction. Congestion is also noted on the Nistorești-Comarnic section.

Other affected routes include the A2 motorway between Cernavodă and Fetești toward Bucharest, and DN 39 between Lazu and Tuzla in both directions. Additionally, high traffic volumes are being reported on DN 7 between Pitești and Sibiu near Călimănești and Căciulata.

Approximately 200 police officers have been deployed to monitor main arteries and tourist areas to ensure safety. Authorities recommend that drivers use alternative routes, maintain safe distances, and avoid using the emergency lane for travel.
