Romania halts tap water in Baia Mare and Constanța towns for network repairs

In early July 2026, the public water utility in Baia Mare stopped supplying potable water to several streets, including Ocoliș, Salciei, Unirii and others, while repair crews work on the distribution network. The interruptions are scheduled to last from a few hours up to the evening of July 7, after which service is expected to resume.

On 7 July 2026, RAJA SA announced a temporary suspension of water to the towns of Biruința and Topraisar in Constanța County to connect new pipelines under Contract CL37. The company apologized, urging residents to keep a minimum water reserve and noting that water quality may appear temporarily turbid after the service is restored. Both interventions are part of broader infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving water delivery capacity and quality.
