Romania: Heating support applications open in Szatmárnémeti and Gyergyószentmiklós
Local authorities in Romania, including Szatmárnémeti and Gyergyószentmiklós, have announced the commencement of applications for heating support and energy supplements for the upcoming season.
For the heating support, which covers the five-month period from November 1 to March 31, applicants must submit documentation by November 20 to receive payments starting in the first month. Eligibility is based on monthly net income: single individuals must not exceed 2,053 lei, while for families, the per capita income must not exceed 1,386 lei.
Support amounts vary by heating method. Natural gas users can receive between 25 and 250 lei monthly, electricity users between 50 and 500 lei, and those using wood, coal, or heating oil between 32 and 320 lei. Additionally, an energy supplement is available year-round, ranging from 10 to 70 lei monthly depending on the energy source.
A significant change in Gyergyószentmiklós is the transition from cash payments to bank transfers to avoid long queues and disputes at local offices. Applicants will need to provide bank account details to facilitate these transfers.
