Romania High Court orders government to pay A8 highway expropriations
The High Court of Cassation and Justice has ordered the Romanian Government to approve the expropriation procedure and pay compensation for land located along the route of the A8 Highway (Târgu-Neamţ-Iaşi-Ungheni).
The ruling follows a legal battle initiated by East West Management SRL, a company that intended to develop a villa complex in Rediu, near Horlești. After three and a half years of litigation, the court mandated that the government issue the necessary decision to trigger expropriation and establish a timeline for transferring estimated compensation amounts to the affected parties.
