Romania honors fallen soldier and last Bacău war veteran

In Romania, local communities are honoring military veterans. At Cornu Luncii, a ceremony was held to commemorate Second Lieutenant Ioan Grosaru, 19 years after he lost his life in Iraq while saving his comrades. The event brought together local administration, military representatives, veteran associations, and students.

Separately, the 95th Air Base announced the passing of Lieutenant Colonel Ion Rusu, the last war veteran in the municipality of Bacău. Rusu, who died at the age of 104, served during World War II between 1943 and 1945 in anti-aircraft artillery and aero-transmission regiments. The Air Base expressed gratitude for his sacrifices.
