Romania hosts Annual Meeting of Diplomacy to discuss security and economic growth
The Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy (RADR 2026) is being held in Bucharest, focusing on the theme ‘Diplomacy: the anchor of a changing world.’ Led by interim Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, the event gathers heads of diplomatic missions, government officials, and business leaders to address security, economic growth, and Romania’s role within the European Union.
Key discussion topics include the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, regional security, and economic diplomacy. The meeting features contributions from international partners, including Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty via video link. Discussions also emphasize the importance of strengthening financial markets and non-bank financial sectors to bolster Romania’s economic competitiveness.
Separately, President Nicușor Dan promulgated the Law on integrity in public office to ensure access to NRRP funds, despite maintaining his position in a constitutional challenge against the law. He also met with U.S. Congressional representatives at the Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base to discuss transatlantic security and the strategic importance of the Black Sea region.
