Romania energy and transport infrastructure sees major investment

Romania is seeing significant investment in its energy and transport infrastructure. In the energy sector, Banca Transilvania has provided 300 million euros to Transgaz for gas infrastructure modernization. Additionally, the EBRD is supporting Econergy's Părău 2 project in Brașov, which includes a 342 MW solar plant and a 150 MW/300 MWh battery storage system, with a total financing package of up to 229 million euros. In Mureș, Winners Holding Investments and Finas Group have commissioned a 100 MWh battery storage unit in Glodeni, part of a larger strategy to expand storage capacity in Romania. Meanwhile, Nova Power & Gas is advancing construction on a 160 MW gas-fired power plant in Câmpia Turzii.

Infrastructure developments also include the A7 motorway, where the Săucești–Trifești lot has reached 62% completion with asphalt already laid. In the Republic of Moldova, renewable energy capacity has grown to 1,074.74 MW, driven largely by solar power. Other regional updates include the modernization of the Azur transformer substation in Timișoara and various local urban and road maintenance projects across Romania.
