Romania issues emergency alerts after bear sightings in Vâlcea and Argeș

Authorities in Romania have issued emergency RO-Alert warnings following sightings of a bear in the Vâlcea and Argeș regions.

In Vâlcea County, an extreme alert was issued for the village of Aldești, Golești commune, around 10:00 AM. Residents were advised to stay indoors, avoid traveling in the affected area, and maintain a safe distance from the animal. Authorities specifically warned citizens not to attempt to feed or photograph the bear and urged them to protect livestock without exposing themselves to danger.

Similarly, in Argeș County, a bear was reported in the Micești commune, prompting another RO-Alert. Residents were instructed to exercise caution, avoid the area where the animal might be present, and report any sightings to the authorities. Officials emphasized that these alerts are intended to reduce public risk and that the situation is being monitored for potential intervention.
