Romania labor market shows high regional job vacancy disparities

Romania's labor market shows significant regional disparities in job availability and recruitment trends. Data from eJobs.ro indicates that Bucharest accounts for nearly half of the approximately 150,000 job postings recorded since the beginning of the year, with 71,000 vacancies located in the capital. Brașov has seen a notable rise in recruitment, climbing to the second position, followed by Ilfov, Cluj, Iași, Constanța, and Timiș.

In contrast, regions such as Harghita, Mehedinți, and Caraș-Severin report much lower job availability. In Timiș, the private sector remains highly dynamic, particularly in retail, food industry, and logistics, with average net salaries reaching 5,500 lei. Meanwhile, Caraș-Severin has seen significantly fewer openings compared to its neighbor, Timiș.

Specific local reports highlight localized needs: Bihor County has 874 vacancies, with the Bihor County Emergency Clinical Hospital being the largest employer with 395 positions, primarily in healthcare. Vaslui also reports numerous openings across various sectors including security, transport, and construction. In Satu Mare, AJOFM is organizing a job fair specifically for graduates to facilitate their transition into the professional workforce. Additionally, in Harghita, apprenticeship programs face low engagement due to bureaucratic complexities, despite monthly subsidies of 2,250 lei available to employers.
