Romania lags in EU corporate AI adoption despite high individual usage

Romania faces a significant gap in corporate artificial intelligence adoption. While 83% of Romanians use AI individually, only 15.4% utilize it in a professional capacity. According to the CES AI Institute, Romania ranks last in the European Union for business AI integration, with only 5.2% of companies employing at least ten people using the technology, compared to a 20% EU average.

UiPath founder Daniel Dines has commented on the evolving relationship between humans and AI. Speaking at the Fusion event in Las Vegas, Dines noted that while Large Language Models (LLMs) excel at logical reasoning and text-based problem solving, they lack the human ability to learn through experience and the capacity to take responsibility for consequences. He suggested that humans working alongside AI could become ‘superhumans’.

Dines also highlighted the entrepreneurial advantages of the United States over Europe, citing a more flexible commercial infrastructure and a higher appetite for risk. He advised European entrepreneurs developing universal technologies to focus on the US market to maximize their chances of success.
