Romania launches Stop Racism platform for hate crime reporting

The Romanian government has launched the ‘Stop Racism’ platform (stoprasism.ro) to facilitate the reporting of antisemitic, anti-Roma, and xenophobic incidents. The tool is designed for both victims and witnesses of hate speech or discrimination.

Users can report incidents through a structured online form without the need to create a permanent account. The system automatically directs reports to the relevant authorities based on the information provided. If a report is sent to the wrong agency, the authority can redirect it to the correct one with a stated justification. The platform also allows users to track the status of their reports.

In addition to reporting, the website provides information on the legal framework, victim rights, and official state documents, reports, and international studies. It also offers information regarding non-reimbursable funding opportunities. The platform is intended as an information and reporting tool and does not replace existing emergency procedures or legal protocols; citizens in immediate danger should still contact emergency services via 112.
