Romania launches student support programs for school supplies and computers

In Romania, several initiatives are providing financial and material support to students for the upcoming school year. In Maramureș County, the County Council has allocated 290,000 lei for the ‘First Backpack’ program. This project aims to provide approximately 2,500 primary school students with essential supplies, including pencil cases, colored pencils, notebooks, and drawing blocks.

Separately, the ‘Euro 200’ program will provide vouchers worth 200 euros to over 2,300 students and university students for the purchase of a new personal computer. This program targets individuals up to 26 years of age from low-income families, specifically those where the monthly gross income per member does not exceed 500 lei. Vouchers will be distributed between August 31 and September 11, with computer purchases permitted from September 7 to October 16.
