Romania lights Parliament façade red for World Blood Donor Day

World Blood Donor Day is observed on 14 June under the auspices of the World Health Organization. In Romania, the Commission for Health and Family of the Chamber of Deputies arranged for the main façade of the Palace of Parliament to be illuminated in red from 21:30 to 05:00 on the night of 14‑15 June.

The lighting, requested by the Bucharest Blood Transfusion Center, aims to raise public awareness of voluntary blood donation, promote solidarity with patients who depend on blood products, and encourage the maintenance of adequate blood reserves for surgeries, emergencies and treatments.
