Romania local authorities issue public safety alerts in Rucăr and Beltiug

Local authorities in Romania have issued separate public safety warnings for the communes of Rucăr and Beltiug.

In Rucăr, the mayor has implemented a ban on feeding stray dogs in specific designated areas. This measure, following Local Council Decision no. 42, aims to prevent the formation of packs and ensure public safety. Prohibited zones include the town center, various streets such as Râușor and Libertății, public parks, and a 100-meter radius around the Nae A. Ghica Middle School and Victor Slăvescu Technological High School. Violators face warnings for first offenses and fines for repeated actions.

In Beltiug, Satu Mare County, the County Gendarmerie Inspectorate has issued an alert following sightings of a bear. Residents and workers in agricultural or forestry sectors are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid approaching the animal. Authorities recommend maintaining distance, avoiding feeding or provoking the bear, and calling the 112 emergency number if the animal is spotted.
