Romania men's volleyball team upsets France in European Championship comeback

The Romanian men's national volleyball team achieved a major upset at the European Championship by defeating Olympic champions France. After falling behind 0-2 in sets, Romania staged a dramatic comeback to win the match 3-2.

Following losses of 16-25 and 25-27 in the first two sets, Romania took control in the third with a 25-20 win. The fourth set was particularly intense, with Romania saving four match points to eventually win 35-33. The team secured the victory in the final set with a score of 15-12.

With this result, Romania finishes third in Group D with 9 points, trailing France (13 points) and Germany (11 points). Both France and Romania have qualified for the next stage of the tournament. The match also marked the retirement of team captain Marian Bala, who was honored by the Romanian Volleyball Federation during the event in Cluj-Napoca.
