Romania observes historical anniversaries for Mihai Viteazul and Magellan

Historical commemorations are being observed in Romania, including a memorial service at Dealu Monastery marking 425 years since the passing of Mihai Viteazul. The service, attended by clergy and pilgrims, honored the figure described as the first great unifier of the Romanians. During the event, several volumes published by the Târgoviște Archbishopric regarding the voivode's religious politics and historical legacy were presented.

Additionally, historical records note the anniversary of Ferdinand Magellan's expedition. On August 10, 1519, his fleet of five ships departed from Seville, beginning the first circumnavigation of the globe. The expedition, which included the ships Trinidad, San Antonio, Concepción, Victoria, and Santiago, sought a passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
