AUR leads Romanian parliamentary election polls, CURS survey shows
A recent CURS opinion poll conducted between September 16 and 22, 2026, reveals significant shifts in Romanian political preferences amid an ongoing political crisis. The AUR party maintains its lead with 34% of the vote, followed by the PSD at 25%. In contrast, the PNL and USR parties have seen declines, dropping to 18% and 8% respectively.
Other parties mentioned in the poll include UDMR at 5%, SOS România at 3%, and several smaller groups such as SENS and Acțiunea Conservatoare at 2% each. The top three parties combined account for over three-quarters of the expressed voting intentions.
The survey also highlights deep public dissatisfaction and polarization. Approximately 79% of respondents believe the country is heading in the wrong direction. Regarding the possibility of early parliamentary elections to resolve the current crisis, public opinion is split evenly, with 47% supporting the idea and 47% opposing it.
