Romania prepares for large-scale National Cleanup Day

Romania is preparing for large-scale environmental cleanup initiatives this September. The Let’s Do It, Romania! association has announced that over 81,000 volunteers have registered for the National Cleanup Day, scheduled for September 19. This event is part of a global movement occurring simultaneously in 190 countries. Since 2010, approximately 2.9 million Romanians have participated in cleanup actions organized by the group.

In addition to the national movement, a specific hiking and cleaning event titled “Anii Drumeției” will take place on September 20 in the Păltiniș resort. Organized in partnership with the Asociația Sportivă Clubul Cibinium Sibiu, the program combines guided hikes with waste collection efforts. Previous iterations of this event in Păltiniș have seen volunteers collect approximately 1,000 kg of waste from various areas of the resort.
