Romania promotes national parks and initiates Herăstrău Park regeneration

The Conservation Carpathia Foundation, together with Romania's Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, launched a nationwide campaign called “Parcurile Generațiilor” to raise awareness of the country’s 13 national parks. The campaign explains the unique value of each park, highlights their role in climate adaptation, tourism and local economies, and will be broadcast on TV, radio and online.

Bucharest City Hall, in partnership with the Bucharest Public Domain Administration, the Bucharest Community Foundation and the Romanian Landscapers Association, approved a collaboration to regenerate Herăstrău Park. Experts will assess the park’s vegetation, develop a revitalisation plan and involve NGOs and citizens through consultations and donations. The initiative aims to address broken pathways, dry vegetation and excessive concrete, improving the park’s ecology and public facilities.
