Romania proposes voting rights for interim CSAT members

Romanian parliamentarians from the PSD and PUSL have introduced a legislative proposal to amend the organization and functioning of the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT). The project aims to address a current legal gap regarding interim members.

Under the existing Law no. 415/2002, individuals temporarily exercising the duties of a leadership position within an institution represented in the CSAT do not have the explicit right to vote during council meetings. The proposed amendment would allow these interim officials to exercise voting rights on decisions concerning national defense and security, provided they are legally participating in the sessions.
