Romania public sector employees report concerns over rigged recruitment competitions
A survey conducted by the APSAP Training Center reveals that 54.7% of public sector employees in Romania believe that some state competitions are organized only as a formality, with winners predetermined. Of those surveyed, 34.4% stated these situations occur ‘sometimes’ and 20.3% said they occur ‘frequently’.
Only 26.6% of respondents categorically denied the existence of such rigged competitions. Bogdan-Costin Fârșirotu, president of the APSAP Training Center, noted that these results indicate a crisis of confidence in the public administration recruitment system.
Despite concerns regarding recruitment transparency, the general perception of the evolution of public administration remains somewhat positive, with 57.4% of respondents seeing a positive trend. This perception is relatively consistent between management and executive staff.
