Romania and Moldova publish 2026 national exam results for students

Romania held the Mathematics component of the Evaluarea Națională 2026 on 24 June for more than 148 000 eighth‑grade pupils. The exam covered arithmetic, algebra and geometry, and the Ministry of Education released the official marking scheme, allowing students to compare their answers with the correct ones. Teachers expect most scores to fall between 8 and 9, with only a few perfect marks. Detailed regulations prohibit electronic devices and restrict materials that can be used during the test.

In the Republic of Moldova, preliminary results of the national graduation exams (gimnaziu) were posted on 25 June. Over 34 000 candidates sat 95 454 tests in five subjects. Pass rates were 95.7% in Romanian language, 95.2% in History, 96.4% in Russian language and 76.4% in Mathematics. Thirty‑three candidates were disqualified for fraud, most of them in Mathematics. A supplemental exam session is scheduled for 7–10 July, with remedial programs that helped around 6 000 pupils improve in Mathematics and 3 000 in Romanian. The same day, Moldova announced bacalaureat results: a 75.4% overall promotion rate – the third consecutive increase – and a record 85 students earned perfect scores of 10 across all subjects.
