Romania Recycling Map exceeds 20,000 locations
The Recycling Map, an interactive platform developed by the Viitor Plus association and the #DupăNoi social impact platform of the Coca-Cola System in Romania, has surpassed 20,000 locations nationwide. The tool is designed to help citizens transition from the intention of reducing waste to concrete actions by identifying where to donate clothes and toys, find repair shops for broken appliances, or drop off specific waste categories.
Most listed locations focus on the separate collection of materials such as paper, cardboard, metal, glass, batteries, textiles, used oil, and expired medicines. The platform also includes return points for packaging through the Deposit-Return System (SGR).
In a related effort toward circular economy practices, the AsNatura Association in Iași works to repurpose discarded items. The association transforms materials like old kindergarten beds and sewing machines into useful objects, museum exhibits, or creative play materials for children, aiming to reuse approximately 99% of the items collected.
