Romania rental market sees rising demand and prices

The rental market in Romania is seeing increased activity as students and families prepare for the autumn season. In Iași, following university admission results, students are facing a choice between affordable university dormitories and private rentals. Many students from outside the region are seeking housing in popular areas such as Copou, Tudor Vladimirescu, and the City Center, often struggling with high costs that consume much of their financial support.

In Bucharest, rental prices continue to rise, with average monthly costs for apartments reaching approximately 630 euros. Prices vary significantly by neighborhood, proximity to metro stations, and property condition. While areas like Militari or Drumul Taberei may offer two-room apartments for 500-600 euros, demand remains high as the new academic year approaches, prompting experts to advise renters to carefully verify contract conditions and total maintenance costs to avoid scams.
