Romania reports drunk driving at border and bus shelter vandalism
Two separate incidents of misconduct and property damage were reported in Romania.
At the Sighetu Marmației border crossing, a 47-year-old man was intercepted while attempting to enter Romania. Authorities noted the driver was in an unusually high mood with loud music playing in his vehicle. A breathalyzer test revealed an alcohol level of 0.84 mg/l. The individual was transported to Sighetu Marmației Municipal Hospital for biological sampling, and a criminal case has been opened for driving under the influence. The driver eventually continued his journey on foot, leaving his vehicle at the border point.
In Bucharest, a man was filmed destroying a bus shelter at the Armeneasca STB station. The individual repeatedly kicked a glass panel until it shattered, causing him to fall onto the sidewalk. After the impact, the man stood up and left the scene without checking for injuries or addressing the damage. The destroyed shelter, including installation costs, is valued at approximately 10,000 euros.
