Romania reports multiple fatal accidents and organized crime investigations
Romania has seen a series of significant criminal and traffic incidents. In Botoșani, DIICOT is investigating an organized crime group accused of sexually exploiting a 16-year-old victim through violence and death threats.
Traffic fatalities and injuries have been reported across several regions. A fatal collision on the DN7 involving a truck and a van resulted in the death of a 57-year-old Bulgarian driver. In Bucharest, a 17-year-old driver was placed in preventive arrest after driving a Porsche while under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, striking five vehicles. Other notable accidents include a fatal crash on the Olt Valley and a collision in Timișoara involving a bus carrying 40 passengers and a dump truck.
Law enforcement has also addressed various driving offenses, including an 86-year-old driving the wrong way on the A7 motorway, a 60-year-old caught driving drunk in Mioveni, and a 40-year-old in Constanța driving without a license using false license plates. Additionally, a 20-year-old in Orodel was detained for attempted murder following a violent altercation.
