Romania seeks regional resilience and Black Sea security at UN

During the UN General Assembly, Romania aims to position itself as a ‘pillar of resilience’ within the region. Interim Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu participated in over 20 bilateral meetings to strengthen international relations, promote sustainable development, and support peace efforts.

Key diplomatic priorities include enhancing Romania's profile within the International Organization of La Francophonie, particularly regarding relations with African states and EU-Africa trade. Additionally, Romania seeks to develop its role as a logistics hub, improving connectivity with the Balkans and Eastern states.

Security in the Black Sea remains a primary focus. Oana Țoiu co-chaired a panel alongside French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to address the cessation of attacks in the Black Sea and the protection of commercial flows.
