Romania's 2026 National Evaluation exam for 8th‑grade students starts June 22

Romania's National Evaluation (Evaluarea Națională) for 8th‑grade students begins on Monday, 22 June 2026 with the written Romanian language test, followed by mathematics on 24 June, mother‑tongue on 26 June and initial results on 1 July. Over 148 000 candidates will sit the exam in 2 956 centres nationwide, including 5 400 centres in counties such as Vrancea and Timiș. The Ministry of Education has detailed the rules: students must bring a valid ID and blue‑ink writing instruments, store personal belongings in a designated locker, and are prohibited from using any reference material, electronic devices or mobile phones.
