Romania sets 2026‑2027 school calendar and vacation dates

The Ministry of Education has approved the timetable for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Classes will begin on 7 September 2026 and end on 18 June 2027, comprising 36 teaching weeks. For students in evening and reduced‑attendance programs the year will be 34 weeks, finishing on 4 June 2027, while 8th‑grade pupils will have a 35‑week schedule ending on 11 June 2027.

Official vacation periods are: 24 October – 1 November 2026, 23 December – 10 January 2027, a week between 15 February and 7 March 2027 (regional decision), 24 April – 4 May 2027, and the summer break from 19 June 2027 to 5 September 2027. Additional programmes such as “School Differently” and “Green Week” will run between 7 September 2026 and 23 April 2027.
