Romania social benefit payments scheduled for September

Social benefits in Romania, including child allowances, childcare indemnities, and the insertion stimulus, are scheduled for distribution in early September. According to the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection, payments will reach bank accounts on September 8, with postal deliveries following on September 10.

Child allowances remain at 719 lei for children up to 2 years old and 292 lei for those aged 2 to 18. Childcare indemnities, calculated at 85% of the average net income from the previous 12 months, typically range between 1,651 lei and 8,500 lei, subject to legal limits and health contributions.

The insertion stimulus is a monthly payment for parents or guardians returning to work. In 2026, the amount depends on the child's age at the time of return: 1,500 lei per month if the parent returns before the child is 6 months old, or 650 lei per month if returning after 6 months. For children with disabilities, the 1,500 lei threshold applies until the child reaches one year of age, and the benefit can be extended until age 4.
