Romania to have 13 companies in FTSE Russell indices from September
Following a semi-annual review by FTSE Russell, Romania will have 13 companies included in indices dedicated to emerging markets starting in September 2026. The indicative results show that Aquila Part Prod Com (AQ) and Cris-Tim Family Holding (CFH) will be added to the FTSE Global All Cap indices. This brings the total number of Romanian companies in the FTSE Global All Cap index to 10 for the first time.
Other companies maintaining their presence in the FTSE Global All Cap index include Banca Transilvania (TLV), Electrica (EL), Hidroelectrica (H2O), MedLife (M), Nuclearelectrica (SNN), One United Properties (ONE), Teraplast (TRP), and TTS Transport Trade Services (TTS). Notably, Electrica will transition from the Mid Cap to the Large Cap category.
In the FTSE Global Micro Cap segment, Romania will feature three companies: Arobs Transilvania Software (AROBS), Bursa de Valori București (BVB), and Conpet (COTE), the latter of which is newly included. Conversely, Simtel Team (SMTL) will no longer be part of these indices. Remus Vulpescu, General Manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, stated that these changes confirm the evolution of the local market and its ability to meet the criteria of international institutional investors.
