Romania to receive C-130H Hercules aircraft from the United States

The Romanian Air Force is set to receive a C-130H Hercules aircraft from the United States government through the Excess Defense Articles (EDA) program. The handover ceremony is scheduled to take place at Base 90 Otopeni.

This aircraft is the eighth of its type to be integrated into the Romanian military via the EDA program. The C-130H Hercules is a versatile transport aircraft capable of performing various missions, including aerial transport, medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief.

The transfer highlights the nearly 30-year Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States. The ceremony will include the participation of interim Defense Minister Radu Miruță and U.S. Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg.
