Romania to streamline grain exports via Port of Constanța

Romanian authorities have announced plans to modify transport regulations to streamline grain exports through the Port of Constanța. Following a meeting between the Ministers of Agriculture and Transport, along with representatives from railway companies, the Port of Constanța administration, and farmer associations, officials agreed to update the Ministry of Transport's order regarding the acceptance regime for freight trains.

The primary change involves reducing the timeframe for issuing port acceptances required for unloading freight trains. This measure aims to reduce logistical bottlenecks and congestion points. Additionally, the plan includes improving coordination among freight operators and establishing a more efficient mechanism to penalize those who do not comply with the rules.

The objective of these regulatory changes is to ensure Romanian producers have the necessary transport capacity and infrastructure to move agricultural goods to export markets more rapidly and efficiently.
