Romania to transition to winter time in late October

Romania will transition to winter time during the night of October 24 to October 25, when clocks will be set back by one hour. This adjustment means that 04:00 will become 03:00, effectively making Sunday a 25-hour day.

While most digital devices and smartphones update automatically, manual adjustments may be required for classic clocks and certain electronic appliances. Although there have been proposals to permanently abolish seasonal time changes, the European Union mechanism remains in place.

The shift impacts human health by disrupting circadian rhythms. While the change provides an extra hour of sleep, the body may require 7 to 14 days to fully adapt. The reduction in natural daylight can lead to decreased serotonin production and increased melatonin secretion, potentially causing irritability, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating.
