Tourism trends in Romania are shifting as travelers weigh the benefits of short city breaks against traditional long vacations. While long holidays remain popular for families seeking deep relaxation, there is a growing preference for short weekend escapes to European cities focused on culture and gastronomy.

In the coastal sector, the 49th edition of the ‘Litoralul pentru toți’ program is offering significant discounts, with some hotels reducing prices by up to 60% compared to the peak summer season. In September, accommodation prices have become more accessible in various resorts. In Mamaia, double rooms in 2-star hotels are available starting from 192 lei per night, while 3-star options with breakfast start at approximately 201 lei. Other seaside locations like Eforie and Neptun are also seeing lower rates, with some 3-star accommodations in Eforie Nord starting at 132 lei per night.
