Romania updates labor market training and foreign employment regulations
In Romania, several initiatives are addressing labor market developments and professional skills. The Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity is organizing the third Training Offers Fair on October 16, 2026, at the National Library. The event features over 20 providers offering programs in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, healthcare, and the HoReCa sector to help adults adapt to technological changes.
Separately, the Timis Territorial Labor Inspectorate, in collaboration with the Timis Immigration Service, held an information seminar on October 12, 2026, regarding legislative changes for employing foreign citizens. The session focused on Ordinance 32/2026, which outlines new regulations for foreign access to the Romanian labor market. Officials highlighted expanded powers for labor inspectors to verify employment documents, salary payments, and the protection of worker rights, including the requirement for contracts and safety training to be provided in languages understood by the employees.
