Romania to transition to winter time this weekend

Romania will transition to winter time during the night of Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, October 25, 2026. At 04:00, clocks will be set back one hour to 03:00, resulting in a 25-hour Sunday.

Most digital devices, including smartphones and computers, will update automatically. However, manual adjustments are required for analog clocks, kitchen appliances, and older vehicle dashboards.

Medical experts warn that the shift can disrupt the circadian rhythm, potentially causing fatigue, irritability, and difficulties with concentration or digestion in the following days.

Regarding transportation, CFR Călători has announced that train schedules remain valid, but trains already in transit during the time change will undergo additional stops at designated stations to align with the new time. This affects several routes, including connections between Bucharest, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, and Timișoara.
