Romania and Moldova face cooling trend and wind alerts
A significant cooling trend is affecting Romania and Moldova, with the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) forecasting temperatures below seasonal norms through early November.
In Romania, the weather is characterized by increased precipitation and wind. Yellow alerts have been issued for strong winds in regions such as Dobrogea, parts of Moldova, and Muntenia, with gusts potentially reaching 50–70 km/h. In mountainous areas, particularly the Southern and Curvature Carpathians, wind gusts may hit 60–80 km/h, accompanied by sleet and snow at altitudes above 1,500 meters.
In the Republic of Moldova, a similar pattern of cooler, cloudy, and rainy weather is expected, with maximum temperatures ranging between 12°C and 16°C.
Long-term forecasts suggest that while temperatures may see slight increases in some areas after October 18, the overall period will remain cooler than usual, with precipitation levels varying by region.
