Anderson Ceara returns to Csikszereda after failed FCSB transfer

Brazilian midfielder Anderson Ceara, 27, had been on the verge of joining FCSB when a medical examination in Bucharest revealed chronic knee concerns. FCSB cited the risk and withdrew from the agreement, ending a deal that had already been signed on paper.

Csíkszereda confirmed that Ceara will remain with the club under his existing contract, which runs to the summer of 2028. The team announced he will re‑join the training camp on 21 June. Club president Zoltan Szondy accused FCSB of an untidy and disrespectful handling of the transfer, demanding an apology. In response, FCSB president Mihai Stoica said the club could not sign a player with a known medical history and rejected claims that the decision was made in bad faith.

The dispute highlights the challenges of player transfers in Romanian football, with both clubs defending their actions while the player prepares to continue his season at Csíkszereda.
