Romania women's volleyball team faces early EuroVolley 2026 setbacks

The Romanian women's national volleyball team has struggled in the opening stages of EuroVolley 2026. Following an initial 2-3 loss to the Netherlands, the team suffered a 2-3 defeat against Azerbaijan, where they staged a comeback from 0-2 down to force a tiebreak, only to lose 15-8 in the final set.

In their third match, Romania lost 0-3 to Belgium, which secured Belgium's place in the round of 16. Despite the losses, Romania remains in contention for a top-four finish in Group C to advance to the knockout stages in Istanbul. The team's upcoming schedule includes matches against Portugal and Spain.
